MomoMoments: Louisville SuperCon's Inaugural Launch!

Hello again, my buds and blossoms! I know I've been behind on my MomoMoments videos, so I'm going to try to get back into those, along with adding more content to my blog!

Anyways, I’ve returned from an amazing weekend at Louisville SuperCon! Based out of Florida, SuperCon has brought its amazing traditions to Kentucky and really raised the bar for Kentucky cons. Being a Kentucky native, I have seen many cons in the state come and go (mostly go). But SuperCon has proven that Kentucky nerds both want and deserve a great con in their home state!

Having never attended a SuperCon, I didn't know what to expect, but when I saw their schedule I was excited to see they had FOUR costume contests! To top it off, they even had a fifth bonus event which was a holiday costume contest. Of course, the main show on Saturday is the big kahuna, and the turnout for the Saturday contest was phenomenal. A lot of wonderfully crafted pieces showed their stuff on the stage! In fact, I took home a whopping four awards myself!! To check out my updated list of awards, view my Awards and Honors page!

Besides all of the amazing contests, there was a plethora of great cosplay content in general, such as informational panels on 3-D printing, becoming a pro cosplayer, using Cricut cutting machines for cosplay, and more! There also was a strong turnout of local cosplayers, representing every sort of genre, skill level, and style- from the mega popular to fairly obscure.

Of course, if you’re not into cosplay, there was still plenty of other interesting panels, events, and guests! LSC offered video game tournaments, wrestling performances, voice actor panels, themed parties and dances, and so much more that I can't remember it all! And to top it all off, they’re a “super” big fan of the "SuperCon Selfie"! They take a snapshot at the end of major events. That’s certainly a level of community that really brought everyone at LSC closer together, literally!

Overall, Louisville SuperCon was well-organized, with a cheerful and eager-to-help staff and team of volunteers. The show offered something for everyone. I really look forward to this show’s return and would recommend it to anyone. I'm already planning my cosplays for next year! See you there! ;3
