Haruhi Suzumiya

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Why Haruhi Suzumiya?

Haruhi Suzumiya was my first "real" cosplay I guess you could say! I ordered it online, and used my real hair for it, even cutting my long hair to do it. Haruhi was a fun and eccentric character, and I still enjoy rewatching the show. She's a dreamer, but a realist, which I often relate to, but her skills and quirks are obviously on a whole other level from mine!

About This Costume

The outfit was bought online and included the blouse, skirt, belt, SOS arm band, and headband. It also included a ribbon, but I actually created my own from a red satin belt I owned. The socks were bought, and the yellow megaphone is actually a Walmart megaphone that I found in the house, painted yellow.

Why Haruhi Suzumiya?

If Haruhi's school uniform was my "first' cosplay, you could easily assume the cheer uniform was my second! at this point, I hadn't really learned how to sew yet. I still have fond memories of goofing around in this on summer vacation in high school. Gosh, don't you just miss doing nothing for three months, and enjoying the summer as a kid? I sure do! Maybe it's time for an Endless Eight episode binge, haha. Summer never ends! ;D

About This Costume

This outfit was bought online, and included the skirt, top, and headband. I did take in the blouse a little bit on my sewing machine, to give it a slimmer fit! I bought the socks and pompoms as well, and borrowed my friend's baseball and bat to do the photoshoot. Pretty much, all bought and found items!

Why Haruhi Suzumiya?

In high school, Haruhi Suzumiya was one of my favorite anime shows to watch, so when I found this super cute "gothic lolita" cosplay on ebay, I knew I had to get it! Although it's a pretty obscure costume to recognize, since it's only in an art book, I enjoyed wearing the cosplay nonetheless!

About This Costume

The costume was bought online, and I got the socks from We Love Colors, and bought the shoes separately as well. I didn't wear a wig when I first got the costume, but later used a wig from Cosplay Wig for Haruhi's hairstyle!
