Why Camie?
Initially I had cosplayed Camie because I had nearly everything available to me via other cosplays, but I wanted to try updating the look a bit by improving on a few areas! To start, I remade the suit completely, and added shading to the hat's emblem so it would pop more in photos!
I also replaced the wig with one of my favorite styles from Arda Wigs- the Grace in a Strawberry Blonde. The style is technically less accurate, but I mainly just wanted the wig for myself, because it is so pretty! I'm content with getting to use my Camie cosplay as an excuse to buy a pretty new wig I've always wanted, haha!
All in all, I'm very happy with the updates! It has a totally different vibe than my first version, but I welcome changing things up a bit! Plus, even as a master level cosplayer, goes to show you, there's always room for improvement. You don't always have to get the costume "perfect" (whatever that means to you) on the first go. Live in it, learn from it, and upgrade in any place you feel you can! That's the magic of cosplay!

About This Costume
Many pieces did not have to get redone or remade from the first version of my Camie cosplay, so for those pieces, you can read below on how I put her costume together initially!
For the updated suit, I made it in one hour using my 2014 Spyro pattern with a modified center front panel. I particularly like this pattern because there are no side seams, just the two front princess seams, and one center back seam! To install the zipper, I had to use parchment paper to keep my fabric from sticking to the machine, but other than that, it was very easy to work with!
Getting INTO the suit though was another challenge entirely! Not only have I probably changed shape at least a little bit since 2014 when I made my pattern, my Camie fabric is also slightly less stretchy than the material I used on Spyro. So it took me about a half hour to get into the suit, but once it was on, it felt like a second skin! I didn't have any discomfort, even despite the 90 F weather! after a while though, the legs definitely started to feel restricted, so I gues next time I use that old pattern, I'll have to increase space for the legs a bit!
Why Camie?
Although I really have wanted to cosplay Uraraka from My Hero since I saw her, it had been difficult to find quite as much time to craft in early 2019, so for a quicker and easier project, I decided to cosplay Camie Utsushimi so I could cosplay with all my friends who also cosplay from My Hero Academia!
It helped that I already had a blonde wig, black body suit and white boots on hand from other cosplays I'd done, as well as the supplies to make her collar and cuffs! It's nice to be able to do easy little costumes like this!
I later improved on Camie by remaking a suit in black stretch vinyl from the Yaya Han collection and trying out a new wig from Arda! Read above to see what all changes I made, and why I did them!

About This Costume
This was a pretty easy costume and mostly inspired from stuff that I already had on hand! My black cat suit was reused from my 2015 Black Widow cosplay.
The cuffs were made out of some scrap white stretch twill, and I used some spare resin cabochons for the buttons. Had to paint them white, but you can hardly tell the difference, looks like they came that way! The collar was made out of silver belting I had, with strips of stretch vinyl stitched onto the edges. I used a soldering iron to poke holes into the collar to give me room to install grommets.
Camie's black hat was actually modified from a super cheap men's costume hat I got off Amazon. It needed a LOT of work though because the fabric was super flimsy, even see-through! I replaced the front band with a scrap of red stretch PVC, and added a thinner red stripe to go all the way around the back band of the hat. I also glued three short plastic boning scraps on the front three seams of the hat to give it structure, as well as added loose batting to keep the cap from deflating. Lastly, I created the S logo out of two layers of craft foam, which I sealed with Mod Podge, painted gold, and then glued to the hat!
Boots were also from Amazon! Didn't do any modifications to them because I want to be able to double dip these shoes for a few cosplays, such s Trixie Tang. All in all, it was nice to have a simple little cosplay to work on and be able to premiere at Animatic Con 2019! Can't wait to re-debut it at Anime Central 2019 with an updated suit and a few more tweaks to the costume!
